Educational leaflets
During their visit to the Museum both teachers and students receive leaflets. These leaflets include information on the audiovisual material, on informative and literary texts, activities and games as well as suggestions for visits to other museums or places of maritime interest.
The content of the educational leaflets has been adjusted according to the age and the educational programme that the students attend in the Museum. They have been designed to provide the most suitable material and inspire both teachers and students to further engage in issues associated with maritime history and tradition. Likewise, they are also mementos of their visit to the Museum.

Museum Kit
• “The chest of Captain Manolis Fourtounas”. It includes material about the popular maritime culture and the ships of the beginning of the 19th century. It contains copies as well as authentic objects, audiovisual material and texts, games, selected bibliography, suggestions for constructions. The little chest is used at the presentation of the educational programme “Is King Alexander alive?”. It is possible to lend the chest for a specified time period to educational organizations after discussing it with the educational team of the Museum.
• “Sea voyages for trading purposes”. The small suitcase with the educational material has been designed and produced by the Directorate of Modern Cultural Heritage. It treats the themes of merchant ships (sailboats and steamships), the shipbuilding method followed, the ports and the trade routes of ships in the 19th century. Moreover, it contains audiovisual material, small ship models, maps and learning games. The museum kit has been granted to the Hellenic Maritime Museum by the Directorate of Modern Cultural Heritage and it is available for presentations and borrowing to educational organizations.
